Want to get more comfortable teaching about the treaty relationship? This week long training at the Union of Ontario Indians head office is led by author/educator Kelly Crawford.
Participants will work though four modules and one week of experiential learning.
Modules included are entitled
Unlearning: Becoming Conscious
Building the Base: Truth through Treaty
Becoming Multi-Dimensional: Walking in Two Worlds and Ways of knowing, doing, being and honoring.
This will provide a solid base to move forward. The modules will then be followed by an experiential learning experience. Participants will spend a total of four days working with both elementary and secondary kits learning strategies to support learning about the treaty relationship. Participants will leave equipped to support colleagues in treaty education.
Two weeks to choose from: August 8-11 or August 21-25. The training will be held at the Elders Hall at the Union of Ontario Indians head office located at 1 Migiizi Miikun beside the Eagle’s Nest gas bar on Highway 17 West, just outside of North Bay
